Super Hero Obstacle Race

Parents and kids run a themed 2K together, in costume. Ages 4 and up. $33 a person. Groups leave every 10 minutes, and the city says the course takes about an hour. You pick a start inside the 8:00–10:00 a.m. window. Registration stays open until 5:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, or at the park until 9:30 a.m. if it is not full. Each runner gets a cape, a bib, and a medal. The city can change or cancel it for weather.

As You Like It
New Village Arts, 2787 State St
A musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy, with music by Shaina Taub, on the Ray Charles Stage. The season page dates the run Oct. 16 through Nov. 29. A dry side has a bounce house, lawn games, and a floating pumpkin patch where each child lassos a pumpkin to keep. $15 a person. Ages 3 and under are free and still need a registration. Food is for sale. Online presale ends at 5:00 p.m. Oct. 16. Wristbands can be picked up at Alga Norte the week before.
