Teen Hangout

Games, crafts, homework, music, and reading for tweens and teens. The library hosts it once a month on a Wednesday. Wednesday hours are noon–8:00 p.m.
Beats Beyond Boundaries

Music with therapist Elizabeth VanSant for neurodivergent school-aged kids and their families. The September session was ages 6–10 with an adult. No registration. It starts after the teen hangout, so one caregiver with both a tween and a younger sibling has to pick, or hand off.
Pajama Story Time

The little-kid slot the same evening. Stories, music, and movement. Bring a stuffed animal or borrow one. A short play time follows. No registration.

Stories, music, and movement in Mandarin. The listing welcomes families with young children and people who want to learn Chinese. No registration. Friends of the Kirkland Library sponsors it.
Learning about Dyslexia

An all-ages STEM stop presented by three local Girl Scouts. The short listing asks which celebrities experience dyslexia, then invites people to look and take part. Saturday hours are 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. The library is closed Sunday.

A fundraiser, not a drop-in
Amplify KPC

Kirkland Performance Center, 350 Kirkland Ave
The Performance Center’s fundraiser: heavy appetizers, drinks, and 1970s and 1980s dance music from Hit Explosion, on the stage. Ticketed, and not a kids’ show. The library STEM program that afternoon ends at 1:00 p.m., so the two do not overlap.
Marina Park is the walk if you want the water without a market. No city festival is posted there this week.
