Eastside Audubon bird walk

The garden calendar lists Eastside Audubon’s monthly walk for this Thursday morning. Confirm the meeting spot on the garden’s event page before you go. The garden itself is open dawn to dusk, and admission is free. Dahlias are the September display.
Bellevue Farmers Market

The main season is Thursdays, May 21 through October 1. May through August the market ran until 7:30 p.m. September and October close at 7:00. Washington-grown or Washington-made goods, live music, and kids’ activities. Free parking on site. Routes 249 and 246 stop a block away. The market also names Bellevue’s BellHop shuttle and the light-rail shuttle.
SNAP, Market Match, WIC, and Senior FMNP are at the information booth. Well-behaved leashed dogs are allowed, away from the food tables. Pavement can still be warm in September.
Two Thursday markets remain after this one, including the last day of the main season on Oct 1. The market has also posted two extra Saturdays later in the fall: a harvest market with the date still to be set, and a holiday market on Nov 21, both 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

The garden calendar lists a garden-related book and a short activity for families with kindergarten through second grade. Confirm the meeting place on the garden calendar. The rest of the afternoon is the grounds: the ravine bridge, the dahlia beds, and the loop paths. Free admission. The parking lot fills on sunny Sundays.
If you want a playground before the market
Downtown Park is the easy stop between the garden and Bellevue Way. The playground, the canal, and the lawn are free. No ticketed program is posted there this week.
KidsQuest, at 1116 108th Ave NE, is open Tuesday through Sunday with daily programs included in admission. No special program inside this Monday–Sunday span was confirmed beyond the regular floor. The museum calendar is the list to check.
Next Thursday is another market. Saturday, Sep 26, KidsQuest lists a weekend playshop, and Meydenbauer has Devi Mahotsavam on the calendar that day. Sunday, Sep 27, is the Moon Festival Melody concert at the same theatre.
